There is a pre-performance presentation which reviews the story line, which you most likely already know, and the music. For those not fluent in French (yes, this opera is sung in French) the performance is subtitled. This is a great introduction or reintroduction to opera in an informal setting. It ends with plenty of time to catch a BART or Caltrain home.
The performance lasts about 2 hours and 50 minutes including one intermission. The stadium opens at 5:30 PM for those who have preregistered (see below) and the opera begins at 7:30. Gounod's opera "Romeo and Juliet" will be simulcast from the War Memorial Opera House onto the new high definition (2160 x 4672 pixel) Diamond Vision Board accompanied by performance quality audio.
